Released in Feb 2015, "Heavydirtysoul" is the first video in the lore videos. We see here that Nico is taking Clancy outside of the walls of Dema. Clancy and Josh create a firey diversion and Tyler manages to escape Dema for the first time. (Continued in the music video for Jumpsuit)
Trench (2018-2020)

Jumpsuit
Released in July 2018, "Jumpsuit" marks the beginning of the Trench era. The video shows Tyler in Trench, being pursued by Bishop Nico (Blurryface). The yellow flower petals and jumpsuit represent protection from the bishops, while the burning car connects to the Heavydirtysoul video, showing this is a continuation of that escape.
Nico And The Niners
Released in July 2018, "Nico And The Niners" continues the Trench narrative. The video shows the Banditos (rebels against Dema) planning a rescue mission to free Tyler from Dema. The Banditos use a concert to divert Nico and the other bishops, and we see Tyler being extracted from the walled city, with references to the Bishops and the propaganda-controlled society.
Levitate
Released in August 2018, "Levitate" completes the trilogy of videos from the Trench era. After being rescued in "Nico And The Niners," Tyler joins the Banditos camp. The video ends with a shocking twist as Tyler's head is shaved by the Bishops, revealing he was recaptured and returned to Dema, leading into the themes of struggle and resistance central to the album.
Scaled And Icy (2021-2023)
Scaled And Icy marked a dramatic shift in tone and presentation for twenty one pilots. On the surface, the album is bright, colorful, and upbeat, with a sound that contrasts sharply with the darker themes of Trench. However, this cheerful exterior is intentionally misleading—serving as a form of propaganda within the lore. The album represents the bishops' attempt to control the narrative, projecting a false sense of happiness and compliance to mask the underlying oppression in Dema. Many lyrics and visuals subtly hint at forced positivity, surveillance, and the struggle to maintain individuality under authoritarian rule. The era also introduced cryptic letters and hidden messages, reinforcing the idea that not everything is as it seems and that resistance continues beneath the surface.

Timeline Leading to Release
Justin Kade from Alt Nation confirms new Twenty One Pilots music is coming soon.
All of the bands cover arts (excl. Self-Titled) began to start updating with red tape. This confirms everyone we know is dead (incl. the boys grandparents on Vessel.)
Dema letters started coming through the mail to random fans who bought merch. (only 1500 sent out)
These letters contained the following:
- A letter from Dema asking anyone with information about Clancy & his journal entries to come forward and speak about it.
- A piece of "Evidence" which had overlayed typed letters on STILLALIVE and "How did you find http://dmaorg.info/found/…?"
- Another Clancy journal entry, yet again we see a use of doubled letters but it's all a pattern which gives us 229. This circles back to the Ned's Cozy Fireplace video where the only bookshelf to have non tilted books has a sequence of 2 books, gap, 2 books, gap, 9 books. This was then linked to Feb 29, 2024.
- A map of Trench, same exact one as seen on dmaorg.info but this time the ocean is marked as Paladin Strait, revealing a new location. Keons' circle inside Dema is also missing, due to his death.
Billboards and posters containing a firey background, a new Twenty One Pilots logo and the word Clancy wrapped around the edges start appearing worldwide.
Barcelona, Spain started getting posters but upside down.
Twenty One Pilots upload the I Am Clancy video. This video confirms not only the past 9 years of lore itself but also the order of the lore videos. At the end we hear Clancy say "I am returning to Trench" before a snippet of a new song plays.
Three new letters are posted to dmaorg.info. The first letter was the same as the one received in the mail. The second letter is an appreciation to the Banditos, finished off with "We march in the morning. The revolution shall arrive with the sun." and the letter spells out in overlayed writing "follow the torches". The letter is not from anyone specifically but we can assume it's from Clancy. The third letter in short says that the author has found a way inside of Dema that the bishops won't suspect nor understand. They then say they can "reach them all" and "recruit everyone". Overlayed writing in this letter spells "fly by". The file name includes the hex code for a Cyan Blue (#00FFFF). The file name is also an anagram for "I am Clancy".

Album name, cover artwork and release date is leaked by retailers. The album is called "Clancy" and (was) set to release on May 17, 2024.

Overcompensate
In the music video we find out that Clancy is returning back to Trench. Before he returns he teaches the citizens of Dema about everything that's gone on. In the end we find out that Clancy was never there and that he was seizing a body while he escaped to meet up with the banditos. The story continues in the music video for Navigating.
Paladin Strait
With the release of Clancy, Tyler promised a music video for every song. The music video for Paladin Strait remained unreleased, but hidden codes were discovered in the Clancy: Digital Remains PDF.
@KEONSEAST tweeted "thank you to everyone who joined in on the live stream!!!" to which @blurryface responded with "ISA W" (meaning "I SAW")
@blurryface changed his banner to a screenshot from the digital remains booklet with "RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES"
A Blurryface tweet contained a video with morse code translating to "PAGES" along with the reversed ending of the Paladin Strait music video
The DMA violation code led to dmaorg.info where the password "8325" revealed a teaser for the Paladin Strait music video
Blurryface blocked 6 people, and the music video was announced at 6am
In this video we see the bishops seizing vultures to spy on the Banditos & Clancy. Clancy re-entering Dema with the Banditos where Clancy uses the antlers previously taken from the Neds on Voldsoy to take down eight of the bishops. Meanwhile, the bishops made a zombie army of those who have fallen victim to vialism. The music video ends as Nico comes towards Clancy, puts him in a chokehold and says "So few, so proud, so... emotional. Hello Clancy." before we see Clancy open his eyes as music swells to nothing.
So what happens now?
Judging based off of the FPE letters and the Overcompensate music video, Clancy has backup. We don't know exactly what was told to the citizens of Dema but we know that they are aware of what happened. People have speculated that Clancy fights back. The FPE letters suggest that things won't end in a hellish mess as most of us imagine but instead in a truce or peace.
EXTRA LORE

On April 21, 2018, a Reddit user discovered something hidden on the band's online store.
In each section of the store, there was a gif at the top of the page which compiled clips from that era of the band's history.
In the "Vessel" section's gif, they noticed 2 frames hidden in the static at the end.
Going to dmaorg.info displays a 404 error which reads the following:
“404 ER_ROR you are in violation. thEy mustn't know you were here. no one should ever find out About this. you can never tell anyone about thiS -- for The sake of the others' survIval, you muSt keep this silent. we mUst keeP silent. no one can know. no one can know. no o ne c an kn ow_ (Violation Code. 15398642_14)”
Capitalized letters spell EAST IS UP
- In the original dmaorg url found on the webstore, there was a grid of 9 dots in between /found and /clancy.html
- These represent the Blurryface album cover, with the 9 dots corresponding to 9 songs
- Coincidentally, the 9 songs that those dots correspond to have the track numbers of 1, 5, 3, 9, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 14
- The violation code on the dmaorg.info homepage was 15398642_14
- Putting the violation code in the space that the dots occupied gave us the URL http://dmaorg.info/found/15398642_14/clancy.html
- This new page contained many different things, but they all had one thing in common: a date
- Each document/photo/gif was given a header with a date in the format YYY MMMOON DD (example 4/13/2022 = 022 04MOON 13)
- Most dates corresponded with a meaningful day in the band's history
- The site was updated periodically as time went on

"A lifeless light surrounds us each night. Never could I imagine that something so luminous could feel so dark. It's this glow that reminds us of the dreamless existence we've been sentenced to. When the bishops instituted Vialism as mandate, they effectively reversed the hope that many arrived with.
